Last night we played our first "league standing" 11 & under baseball game against Linn Mar. We won 9 to 5. Kaleb started the game out by pitching, and then played some 3rd and 2nd base too. The boys played a great game and really started to hit and field the ball well.
Today the boys played a double-header at Iowa City against one of the Regina teams. (the Regals) They won the first game 14 to 5. They did a great job hitting the ball and really rallied together as a team.
The second game was going great until the third inning when Regina came back from our 11 to 2 lead. We had two outs and they rallied, scoring 11 runs and taking the lead from us. We came back to tie, and then went into an extra inning for the tie breaker. We were up to bat as the home team with two outs when Kaleb came up to bat. He hit the ball bringing in the the winning run for the game.
It was quite the nail biter for us parents, but the boys hung in there with their heads held high and battled back for the big win. Our team record is now 3wins & 1 lose. Great job boys, & keep up the good work!
