God has taught me many tough lessons in my life, but the hardest one of all was when he allowed me to stray away from Him. That time in my life was what brought me to my knees to come crawling back into His arms. He also used that time in my life to bring me closer to my family. I thank him for that, and even for all the bumps along the way.
I'm in no way perfect now; I can still sin with the best of them. But my focus now is much different. God blessed me with the most amazing husband, and the two best kids I could have ever hoped for. I continue to pray that He will keep us close to him in everything we endure separately and as a family.
Now let me introduce you to Miss Shelby Lee Ann...
Shelby is an amazing 13 year old (young lady), who I am extremely proud to call "my little girl." She is currently in an all teens/pre-teens band called "Oh Snap." Shelby is the lead singer in this band and they have gotten many chances to practice and play together. They've played at Youth group (Outbreak), at retirements complexes, at Mojo's (Coffee House), and at the Red Stone Room in Davenport. This is a pretty big deal to have this kind of an opportunity at such a young age for these kids. I want to thank Jamie Hopkins for helping to teach these kids musically, and for being their "Coach."

This is such a beautiful picture of Shelby right before Christmas, 2006...

Another hobby of Shelby's is playing Softball. She has played since she was 8 years old (just like her Mom). This year she'll be on the High School Softball team. I can't believe how fast time goes by.

October of 2006 marked the year that she made her first appearance in a School Play, "Cafe Murder." She made her first debut at our church's production of "It's A Wonderful Life," in December, 2005. Her biggest dream is to star on Broadway oneday.
Shelby's friends Bre Triemer and Erin Niergarth were in the school play as well...
Shelby is also a wonderful dancer. She didn't start taking dance until she was 9 years old, but right away she was a natural. She's been to a couple of different Dance studios, but this past year we found the perfect match for Shelby in Beth Zogg in Muscatine. She is being taught so many things so quickly. We just love and thank Beth for all she's does for Shelby.
This was the original band, that got together in August of 2006 at a summer day camp called "Rock Camp." Jamie also taught this band, and their name was "Yo' Mamma & Da Pappa's." Here they are performing at the Red Stone Room in Davenport....jpg)
This is a performance that the Youth Dance & Worship Team gave ( praising God) at Calvary in 2006. Shelby loves being involved at church, and this is one of her favorite things to do...(Shelby is #23 Bulls jersey in the front far left.)
Shelby is the one in the red...

She is a special girl, no doubt. Time does fly--I still remember quite well when you were pregnant with her and the day she was born. She is such a blessing to all who know her! Very beautiful...inside and out.
